What Are Shadow People??? - UPDATED!!!

~SHADOW PEOPLE!!!~

Have you ever heard of "Shadow People"? Most likely you have. If you haven't heard of them, well, you have now! I have had many different experiences with "Shadow People". I find them very mysterious and interesting...Here is some interesting information about SHADOW PEOPLE. Now, pay attention! The information below is from different perspectives and beliefs about the Shadow People. I'm just letting you know so you don't get too confused..Just open your mind and read away...

------------------------------

WHAT ARE SHADOW PEOPLE? OR SHOULD I SAY, WHAT ARE THE SHADOW PEOPLE THEORIES

Quote:

""WHAT WAS THAT?" You were sitting comfortably on your sofareading the latest issue of FATE in the dim light when movement across the room caught your attention. It seemed dark and shadowy, but there was nothing there. You returned to your reading - and a moment later there it was again. You looked up quickly this time and saw the fleeting but distinctly human shape of the shadow pass quickly over the far wall... and disappear."
"What are shadow people and where do they come from? Several theories have been offered."
"THE IMAGINATIONThe explanation we get from skeptics and mainstream science - and who are usually people who have never experienced the shadow people phenomenon - is that it is nothing more than the active human imagination. It's our minds playing tricks on us... our eyes seeing things in a fraction of a second that aren't really there - illusions... real shadows caused by passing auto headlights, or some similar explanation. And without a doubt, these explanations probably can account for some if not many experiences. The human eye and mind are easily fooled. But can they account for all cases?"
"GHOSTSTo call these entities ghosts demands first a definition of what we mean by ghosts. But by almost any definition, shadow people are somewhat different than ghost phenomena. Whereas ghost apparitions are almost always a misty white, vaporish or have a decidedly human form and appearance (very often with discernable "clothing"), shadow beings are much darker and more shadow-like. In general, although the shadow people often do have a human outline or shape, because they are dark, the details of their appearance is lacking. This is in contrast to many ghost sightings in which the witness can describe the ghost's facial features, style of clothing and other details. The one detail most often noted in some shadow being sightings are their glowing red eyes."
"DEMONS OR OTHER SPIRIT ENTITIESThe dark countenance and malevolent feelings that are often reported in association with these creatures has led some researchers to speculate that they may be demonic in nature. If they are demons, we have to wonder what their purpose or intent is in letting themselves be seen in this manner. Is it merely to frighten?"

Quote:
"Shadow People may be demonic entities, ghosts, inter-dimensional travelers, or other denizens of the dark realm we call the Unknown. Regardless of their label, Shadow People could very well be more than just one type of being. Brad Steiger, author of “Shadow World,” has studied the paranormal for more than 50 years and agrees – there are many possible explanations for Shadow People. “I would say that experiencers are seeing all of the above and giving them/it the name of Shadow People.”"

Quote:
"The "Shadow People" are not evil or demonic, but simply represent a different configuration pattern than the previously documented orbs, vortices and ectoplasmic swirls and vapor that are the shapes of the spirits of the dead. The spirits of the dead may manifest in many configuration patters according to what they choose. It does take more energy to be displayed as a full body apparition than being a ball of light or an vapor of energy."

WHAT ARE THE SHADOW PEOPLE'S CHARACTERISTICS AND WHAT ARE THE ENCOUNTERS WITH THEM LIKE?

Quote:

"Tales of walking Shadows come from across the world. Some of these Shadow People wander through the periphery of our lives; others stay for years. People can rarely make out features of these darker-than-night, human shaped entities other than an occasional set of blazing red eyes. Shadow People often appear dressed as a Medieval monk, wearing a fedora, or bald and sexless. These entities may simply trek through our bedroom at night never to be seen again, while others may lurk in doorways, just watching, day after day. Still others attack with energy-draining fear."

Quote:
"In the typical experience, a person wakes up from sleep and sees a Shadow Person in the bedroom. It stands right at the bedside, in a corner or in the doorway. It may emerge from a closet or slide out from under the bed. Some of them come through the walls."
"The experiencer is usually terrified and screams. A reaction often makes the Shadow Person disappear, either by vanishing into thin air, zipping down a hallway, or melting through a wall or ceiling (or back under the bed!). People may feel paralyzed to do anything but shut their eyes, hoping that the figure will be gone when they open them. Sometimes it is – and sometimes it isn’t."
"Some people feel threatened by the Shadow Person. It sits on the bed, or presses on them, making them feel as though they will suffocate or choke. The experience ends before actual physical harm occurs, however."

Quote:
"Reports of shadow people are similar to ghost sightings, but differ in that shadow people are not reported as having human features, wearing modern/period clothing, or attempting to communicate. Witnesses also do not report the same feelings of being in the presence of something that 'was once human'. Some individuals have described being menaced, chased, or (more rarely) attacked by shadow people. There have also been reports of shadow people appearing in front of witnesses or lingering for several seconds before disappearing. Witnesses report that encounters are typically accompanied by a feeling of dread."

THE DJINN! BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR! - UPDATED!!!!

The DjinnYou may have been in contact and NOT even know it .... Are you SURE you're alone? Becareful what you wish for...

Has anyone heard of the Djinn? I've been fascinated by them for a while now. At one time I was kind of obsessed. I believe that I have had quite a few encounters with the Djinn. And you may have too and not even know it. Below is some information about them. The book "The Vengeful Djinn" by Rosemary Ellen Guiley and Philip Imbrogno is quite interesting. The Djinn go very deep. I would recommend this read. This entity is one of the most interesting ones that I have come across. IMO. You should definitely look into them......Anyway, below is some good information about them. I'm sure you could get more good information about them by searching the web. But you'd have to spend some time searching. It's hard to find books or websites about them. I guess not very many people know about them. There are very few books about them. Actually I have only come across one and it is the one I spoke of above. Check it out.

WHAT ARE THE DJINN?

Quote:
"An ancient Arabian legend says that God made humans from mud and clay, angels from light, and djinn from smokeless fire. In the western world, many people readily accept the idea of angels and demons, but most have no knowledge of the djinn, called “God’s other people.”"
"According to legend, the djinn were the first inhabitants of this world, where they lived for thousands of years before humanity arrived. In order to make room for humans, angels took the djinn out of this world and placed them in a dimension that parallels our own. There they stay hidden from our view. They have the ability to see and interact with us, but we have difficulty seeing them. They are cloaked in mystery, and it suits their covert purpose."

Quote:
"IN THE WESTERN WORLD we have grown up with the concept of demons and devils – the evil beings of the spirit world, according to traditional Christian beliefs. Other religions around the world have their spirit beings, too, of course. In Islam, the djinn are a race of spirit beings that can be good or evil. (Djinn, or jinn, is the origin of the more familiar word "genie" in English.)"

Quote:
"The Djinn in the Elder Races universe are creatures of air and fire, and almost unimaginable Power.  Born at the beginning of the world, they have no corporeal bodies; instead they can assume whatever physical form they choose and discard it afterward, rather like wearing a set of clothes.  Some Djinn are not gender-specific and they might assume either a male or a female body, according to their mood.  Other Djinn identify much more closely with the masculine or the feminine, and those invariably appear as purely one or the other."
"The Djinn are actually part of the Demonkind demesne, which is comprised of several races, and the Djinn social structure is made up of five Houses—the Shaytan, the Gul, the Ifrit, the Jann, and the most Powerful of them all, the House Marid.  The Houses are based on relationships, much like humans conceived of clans or extended family groups.  Large decisions that affect an entire House are made through consensus, with the older, more Powerful Djinn having the final say.  The elders (either first generation Djinn who were born at the beginning of the world, or the second generation Djinn) are assigned honorifics:  the males are called Princes of their House and the females are called excellencies."

Quote:
"The Djinn has its root in Islamic mythology. Several of their books actually refer to the Djinn. While some believe that Allaah created them just the same as human beings, others believe that they actually predated mankind."
"There also appears to be additional disagreement over whether these creatures are a force of good or evil. However, the prevalent belief indicates that they are angry spirits born from smokeless fire whereas man was born of the earth itself."

Quote:
"Djinn are magical beings. Whereas most mortals were formed by the Creator from earth mixed with other elements, Djinn were formed from smoke and fire. In the distant past, the different tribes of Djinn had a lot of interaction with mortals."
"The world of the Djinn is an independent and separate world with its own distinct nature and features that are hidden from the world of humans. Djinn and humans have things in common, such as the ability to understand and choose between good and evil. The ability to bear children and have spouses. They can be royalty or a celebrity just as easily as a common Djinn"

THE DJINN EXPERIENCE

Quote:
"Everyone’s experience is different."
"Some Djinn will communicate with their human companions through various thought forms…In dreams, visions, strong feelings, intuition, etc. Some people may actually hear whispers or find themselves knowing things without knowing how they know them. As you grow more comfortable with the various communication methods, so will they."
"Some people may get to see their Djinn in human form. But this is a rare occurrence and should not automatically be expected. Most likely, you will see them in dreams, as misty manifestations, orbs, streaks of light, or even haze. Remember, they are invisible to humans and will only make themselves known when they are ready…for some, this time is never."
"You will however, have tangible evidence that they are present. A Djinn’s presence does not often go unnoticed and one can sense when they are around."

WHERE ARE THESE DJINN?

Quote:
"Although they do inhabit the earth, their dimension makes them somewhat separate and distinct from the normal human realm. This fits well within the root meaning of the Arabic word, which translates into "hidden from sight." While the Djinn's world is indeed on earth, it is said to be "not of this earth.""
"While the Djinn can see humans, humans don't always see them. Therefore, Allaah provides protection for unsuspecting humans in the form of a prayer that asks for refuge from the whisperings of the Djinn. More than that, however, having a strong religious faith is also necessary to subvert the Djinn's ability to influence humans."

DJINN AND WISHES:
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!

Quote:
"In the Qur'an (the religious doctrine of Islam), there is much written about the Djinn. One particular chapter contains an entire section dedicated to the lore of this being, called: "Sūrat al-Jinn" (Qur'an, Chapter 72), however, it is in the more modern tales of the Djinn that it is described as one with the power to "grant wishes", such as in the tales of the One Thousand and One Nights, a book that many North Americans know as The Arabian Nights (it's English translation), where this piece seems to stem from."

Quote:
"Let us reflect on the age old saying: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." (the origin of this saying is still being debated today) In the story of Aladin, the Djinn or Genie is 'trapped' in the lamp and because Aladdin rubs the lamp, freeing the Genie, the Genie offers to grant him three wishes...so a reward of sorts. However, as discussed earlier, in the Arabian Nights, a lighter more positive natured Djinn is portrayed. In the other cultures we have looked at, particularly the writings and history of the Djinn in connection to Solomon the King, the Djinn is a Demon, enslaved by Solomon (and probably really pissed; particularly to be enslaved by a human). If a Djinn is in fact a Demon, and a Djinn offers you 3 wishes, the question is WHY? Why would a Demon offer you, a mere mortal, 3 wishes? Let us also reflect on the age old saying of: "Always a catch..."  Nothing much in this world is offered free of charge; there is almost always a price, a challenge to be met, a favor expected in return, or trickery of some kind (sadly). In later Djinn stories the Djinn's 3 wishes come with a terrible price...they are never what they seem. Somehow, the person who is granted the 3 wishes, no matter how they word them, no matter how they try to cover every detail, always find themselves in a position where each wish backfires, first leaving them to use up another wish to correct or undo the prior on, and then with the last wish, some type of devastation (like wishing for world peace only to step outside and find that everyone on Earth has vanished except for you). The wishes seem to be intended to backfire, to cause pain and suffering, or worse. Let's look at some examples of this portrayal of the Djinn:"
"In folk tales, djinn who are imprisoned in vessels and rings must grant three wishes to whoever liberates them, after which they are free. Unfortunately, stories about wish fulfillment are seldom straightforward; usually the wishes backfire, working too well, or not at all how the wisher had hoped. As the djinn themselves warn, every wish has a consequence. In most tales, the first wish is usually successful but the next two are not, and the protagonist finds himself in increasing trouble because of the wishes. The wishes must be worded very carefully, for a djinn will find a way to follow them to the letter, but in unexpected ways. Even if he tries to be clever, the protagonist never outwits the djinn, and usually the person's final wish is to undo the first two."

DIFFERENT TYPES OF DJINN

Quote:
"There are different types of djinn; the Qur’an mentions only three: Djinn, ‘ifrit, and marid. Other names include jann, ghul, shaitans, hinn, nasnas, shiqq, si’lat, and a host of others. The names above vary depending on the region in the Middle Eastern country. Some of the best-known Djinn are:"
--> "GHUL - The ghul (ghoul) are shape-shifting cannibalistic and blood-drinking creatures that feed on the flesh of human beings, especially travelers, children or corpses stolen out of graves. The oldest references to ghul in Arabian lore are found in The Book of 1001 Nights. There are several types of ghul. The most feared is a female type (ghula) which has the ability to appear as a normal, mortal woman.  According to lore, such a creature marries an unsuspecting man, who becomes her prey."
"The ghul are nocturnal creatures who inhabit graveyards, ruins and other lonely places. Sometimes they are described as dead humans who sleep for long periods in secret graves, then awake, rise and feast on both the living and the dead. Ghul also personify the unknown terrors held by the desert."
"In Persian lore the ghul has the legs of a donkey and the horns of a goat".
--> "HINN - The hinn are weak djinn, close to animals, and they especially like to appear as dogs"
--> "IFRIT - The ‘ifrit (variation: afrit) is cited only once in the Qur’an, in reference to a djinni who fetched the throne of the Queen of Sheba at the command of King Solomon. In lore, it is evil and powerful, and difficult to control."
--> "JANN - Jann are shape-shifters who lives in the desert, and take the forms of whirlwinds and white camels. They are open-minded about humans, and were among the first djinn encountered by people. They have the power to hide or reveal oases in the desert, depending on whether they like or dislike a party of travelers. They are the enemies of the ghul."
--> "MARID - The marid is unruly and rebellious, and the most powerful of djinn. The marida (plural) possess great knowledge of magic and have assisted kings and priests. They are also known as “blue” djinn and are the ones most often associated with wish-granting genies."
--> "NASNAS - The nasnas is another weak form of djinn, hybrids of human-like and animal-like forms, and may account for some of our encounters with mysterious creatures. It is described in The Book of 1001 Nights as a half- human being, that is, it has half a head, half a body, one arm, one leg. It hops about on its single leg. The nasnas was said to be the offspring of a shiqq (see below) and a human being."
--> "PALIS - The palis is a vampiric foot-licker that lives in the desert. It has low intelligence and can be easily outwitted, according to lore. It attacks sleeping people and drains their blood by licking the soles of their feet. It can be fooled by two people sleeping end to end with their soles of their feet together or under each other’s head."
--> "SHAITAN - The shaitan (shaytan) is a rebellious, malevolent djinni associated with demonic forces"
--> "SHIQQ - The shiqq is a  lower form of djinn, a half creature,or  literally only half-formed and thus monstrous in appearance."
--> "SI’LAT - The si’lat are expert shape-shifters and the smartest of the djinn. They can mimic human appearance with ease."
