The WENDIGO

~THE WENDIGO!~

There is soooo much information about Wendigos on the web. And there is so much more information about the Wendigo that is not posted in this entry. But I tried to do my best to cover the basics. Feel free to search the Wendigo for yourself. Like I said, there is a ton of information about the Wendigo on the web. I find this topic really interesting and I think you will too.  Anyway, here we go!

-------------------------

WHAT IS A WENDIGO?

Quote:
"Northern US and Canadian AmerIndian Tribes, including the Ojibwa, Cree, Saulteaux, Naskapi, Innu and Montagnais, believe that the Wendigo (also called Windigo) is a real creature that stalks the forests and prairies. It’s a malevolent cannibalistic monster that can possess people and turn them into Wendigos."

"The Wendigo is a supernatural entity of enormous power, the embodiment of insatiable hunger, gluttony, unbridled evil, and the savage predator. Befitting its bestial nature, the Wendigo possesses supernatural strength, speed, endurance, and senses. The beast is able to rip a human apart with little effort, and the Wendigo moves so quickly that it cannot be seen by the human eye. Any wounds that are inflicted on the Wendigo’s body are healed very quickly, although wounds caused by silver tend to heal very slowly. It is invulnerable to most conventional weapons, excluding arms incorporating pure silver. The Wendigo thrives in even the harshest climates, immune to extremes of cold."

THE WENDIGO LEGEND

Quote:
"Many tribes believe that the Wendigo originates as a human being, who once possessed by the evil Manitou is transformed into the beast. It is considered a flesh-eating demon of winter that has a man buried deep inside of it. The Innu people of Quebec and Labrador believed that the human who was host to a Wendigo spirit would grow exponentially in power and size with each meal he took, along with the spirit inside of him. In such cases, the only way to kill the spirit (and the man who is now seen as a giant) is with the help of Kushapatshikan, a Shaking Tent Ceremony."

"The legend of the Wendigo or "Windigo" – two of the most common of at least forty variants of the Algonquin word “witiku” – is known in much of Canada, the Maritime provinces, the Northwest Territories and parts of the northern United States. Among the various Algonquin tribes are the Micmac or Mik’maq, Montagnais, Naskapi, Algonquin, Abenaki, Ojibwa, Cree, and the Blackfoot."

Quote:
"According to Native American mythology the Wendigo was once a great warrior, when faced with an enemy he could not defeat the Wendigo could give his soul and life in exchange for the power needed to defeat the enemy and save his tribe. However, once the threat was eliminated the Wendigo was forced to leave his tribe and wonder the countryside for eternity. The Wendigo is further more cursed with a taste for human flesh. The first accounts of the Wendigo myth by explorers and missionaries date back to the 17th century. They describe it rather generically as a werewolf, devil or cannibal. Different origins of the Wendigo are described in various forms of the myth, besides a warrior giving his soul to save his village other versions of the myth state that a hunter may become a Wendigo when encountering it in the forest at night, others state that a person may become a Wendigo as a result of being possessed by the creature in a dream. When the cannibalistic element of the myth is expressed, it is said that anyone who eats the flesh of a human will be transformed into a Wendigo."

Quote:
"The legends of the Wendigo were being passed down from generation to generation long before the Europeans ever stepped foot in what is now the United States. There are nearly as many different versions to the legend, as there are descriptions of the creature itself."
"Although there are two key components that seem to be included in every version of the story, number 1 resorting to cannibalism is thought to be the primary way of becoming a Wendigo, and number 2, even though the physical descriptions may vary, the wendigo is almost always described as a very thin, pale skinned creature that reeks of death and will only continue to grow larger after eating the flesh of a human."
"The Wendigo stories are said to have first begun during a time of tragedy and misfortune hundreds of years ago. The Algonquin tribes from the northern United States and southern parts of Canada were on the verge of starvation, as natural food sources were running dry."

Quote:
"The Algonquin legends claim that after a tribesman fed upon the flesh of another man he would soon go missing from their encampment never to be seen in his human form again. Within a few days others would begin to disappear as well leaving only their bloody clothing as evidence of foul play, but on rare occasions there would be a witness to the gruesome act."

Quote:
"Although different tribes had different traditions, most stories describe the primal wendigo as a gaunt humanoid giant with decayed skin and long yellow fangs. The creature’s eyes glowed in the dark and it was always hungry for human flesh. These huge monsters could be heard howling in the forest on winter nights and were said to have powerful dark magic, but wild wendigo spirits outside in the wind were only half the story. If a person broke the ultimate Algonquian taboo, and decided to prefer cannibalism to starvation, he or she would begin to turn into a Wendigo. After eating human flesh, a person’s humanity would disappear and their heart would become cold. No food could slake a wendigo’s appetite except for human meat (and even that could not be eaten in sufficient quantity to fill up). Monsters of unnatural appetite, these transformed wendigos would bring death and ruin to all other people unless they fled into the wilderness or were killed by a medicine person."

WHAT DOES A WENDIGO LOOK LIKE?

Quote:
"Wendingos are said to have different appearances, but they are most commonly described as garish in appearance, with glowing sunken eyes and sharp yellowish fangs. They can be as tall as fifteen feet, emit a putrid odor and have a ravenous appetite for human flesh. These entities have a close affinity with the forest’s predatory animals. It's said that they travel together and Wendigos share their kills with other carnivores. Kenora, Canada has the dubious distinction of being the Wendigo Capitol of the World."

Quote:
"To paraphrase various complex and detailed descriptions of the creature, the Wendigo is an extremely skeletal creature lacking any real muscular tissue other than skin and bones, it's skin color ranges from yellow to ash gray, and its eyes range from deep blackened pits to glowing yellow eyes. The description varies quite a bit at times; adding hair, fur, fangs, antlers, and other variations, the Wendigo is one truly left up to the darkest reaches of the human imagination. Some groups believed whenever a Wendigo ate another person, they would grow larger, in proportion to the meal they had just eaten, so that they could never be full."

"Over the years, the Wendigo has been given numerous and varied attributes, including the ability to change shape, a body and/or heart of stone or ice, and formidable strength and speed. In some accounts, the creature was said to be in excess of ten to fifteen feet tall, with sallow, yellowish skin, glowing eyes, long yellowing fangs and an abnormally long tongue. Still other accounts suggested a creature so thin that it couldn’t even be seen from the side."

Quote:
"Its appearance can vary much like its name, yet many sources describe the Wendigo spirit as being a giant, a gigantic skeleton made of ice. In these stories, the Wendigo may have a tall and lanky body made of flexible ice, ranging in size from “higher than the treetops” to “twenty feet above the highest mountaintops.” Others describe it as a walking corpse with long, stringy hair; and still more as with jaundiced skin covered in pale fur and even with a star on its forehead. In one variation of the story, the creature could only be seen if it faced the witness head-on, because it was so thin that it was invisible from the side. That few of the descriptions of the giant form of Windigo are identical may perhaps be due the “blind fear” that is supposed to overcome anyone who encounters such a horrific beast."
"A more common description of the Wendigo is as such: humanoid in appearance, twenty to thirty feet tall with long arms, no lips, jagged teeth too big for its mouth (or yellowish canine fangs), an extended tongue and wicked claws on each hand. Very repulsive, this human-like Wendigo is said to be naked, covered in tree sap, moss and other swamp detritus, with skin stretched too tight over an emaciated frame and a from which huge red eyes glow like embers. The Wendigo fiend’s visage is manlike but horrible beyond all imagining, so much so that to look directly upon it is to faint or be killed instantly. If not composed entirely of ice, then it either has a heart made of ice or ice flowing through its veins."

WENDIGO SICKNESS AND PSYCHOSIS

Quote:
"Note: Wendigo Psychosis is also an associated mental condition. (As with the term Wendigo, the associated mental condition has many referenced spellings and alternative terms) It refers to a condition in which sufferers developed an insatiable desire to eat human flesh even when other food sources were readily available, often as a result of prior famine cannibalism Windigo Psychosis is identified by Western psychologists as a culture-bound syndrome, though members of the aboriginal communities in which it existed believed cases literally involved individuals turning into Wendigos. Such individuals generally recognized these symptoms as meaning that they were turning into Wendigos, and often requested to be executed before they could harm others."

"According to some psychological anthropologists, there is the Windigo Sickness – a Psychic Disorder: Caused by Egotistical Abuse of Psychic Powers or Abilities. Anthropologist Morton Teicher described the alleged mental condition of people believing they are or will be Wendigos, that he dubbed the Windigo Psychosis. This has been reported in the Northern Algonkian Tribes living around the Great Lakes. It usually happens in winter when people are isolated and have little food. Initial symptoms are, generally, a poor appetite, nausea and vomiting. Then, victims develop a delusion of being transformed into a Windigo or fear becoming one. They feel intense anxiety and sometimes attempt suicide. Windigo sickness is caused by egotistical abuse of personal power."

The most commonly known cure for windigo psychosis is bear fat or bear grease."

PROTECTION AGAINST WENDIGOS

Quote:
"According to lore, the single way to be safe from these creatures is to kill them. Wendigos can only be executed by silver, iron and steel. The creature’s hunters must keep fires ablaze at all times. Using amulets, protective spells, charms and fetishes is advised because they have power over the beast. Earplugs are employed to block the monsters’ shrieks. Firearms with silver bullets or a stake, sword, axe, knife and arrows dipped in silver can be used to dispatch a Wendigo. The body should be burned to ashes or thrown into deep water or a well."

WENDIGOS AND MURDER

Quote:
"In earlier times, the Wendigo was taken quite seriously in certain quarters. There are numerous accounts of people being convicted, and even executed, for being a Wendigo. One famous Wendigo hunter, a Cree Indian named Jack Fiddler, boasted of killing fourteen of the creatures, but was imprisoned for the last of these killings – that of a Cree woman believed to be possessed by a Wendigo."

BECOMING A WENDIGO

Quote:
"The best known way to become a Wendigo is through cannibalism. By eating another human being, even out of necessity for survival, a human can be overcome by these spirits and be transformed into one. The fear of turning into this creature was so strong that it was preferable to kill one's self rather than resort to cannibalism."

"Theories of how one becomes a Wendigo are varied, but they all resort to one cause: cannibalism. HAUNTED AND POSSESSED OBJECTS

~HAUNTED AND POSSESSED OBJECTS!~
AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

(Above: Annabelle the Doll)

Have you ever had an object that seemed to have had a mind of it's own? Did it disappear and reappear in a different spot? Did it give off a "bad vibe"? Were there strange noises coming from it? Maybe your object was, indeed, possessed!!!  Who knows?! I have always found the topic of "Haunted and Possessed Objects" very interesting. When I was a kid, I had this four foot barbie doll that I got one year for Christmas. And I swear it's head would turn at night. Haha, maybe it was just my imagination, being a little kid and all. But still, this subject is very interesting. Here is some information about "Haunted and Possessed Objects"...

-----------------------

WHAT ARE "HAUNTED/POSSESSED OBJECTS"?

Quote:
"Description : inanimate objects that move, make noise or change shape.  Sometimes a particular piece of furniture will refuse to change place, even moving in front of the owner's eyes. Other notorious haunted objects are the various means of transport ; phantom ships, ghost trains that rumble through the night on their old runs, even if the railway line has been removed."

----

Quote:
"Can a seemingly harmless and inanimate object such as an old doll, watch or piece of furniture contain the psychic energy of its previous owners? Can everyday objects be haunted? In a recent visit to Ebay I happened to find several supposedly haunted items being sold. Everything from old tools and photographs to dolls and jewellery, all of it purportedly haunted. There was even a haunted mansion for sale in Colorado. It seems that there is no shortage of haunted, cursed and generally spooky stuff for sale these days. But do these so-called "haunted" or "cursed" objects really possess the energy of the dead?"
"Some objects are said to be cursed, other seem to be animated by spirits. Other notoriously haunted objects are vehicle; phantom ships, ghost trains that steam through the night air on their old runs, even if the railway line has been long removed. Some famously haunted objects have fascinated the public consciousness for years. We have all heard about The Hope Diamond, the Flying Dutchman and King Tuts tomb, all of which are reportedly cursed or haunted items, which many feel retain the essence of long dead souls."

Quote:
"Haunted objects or not a common as haunted houses or land, but there have been many stories told about objects that have a spirit attached to them. Some people believe that only antiques can be possessed by a spirit, but newer objects can also be haunted. Antiques have been in existence for a longer period of time, and have probably had more owners, so they have a higher chance of possession. Newer objects haven’t had as many owners and have less chance of being haunted. Items that have been reported as possessed include; paintings, furniture, dolls, tins, tools, photos, and jewelry."

Quote:
"We know that locations can be haunted, and hold residual energy from the past.Haunted objects can also do exactly the same thing. It can be a piece of antique jewelery furniture, mirrors, pianos, books and even recycled building materials. Often taken from old abandoned buildings, the material has now become very popular with some new construction of homes. Almost anything can have a spirit attachment, good or bad."
"Typically the haunting will start when the object is brought into a home, a ghost may be witnessed lurking close to the object, it can also seem to have a life of its own.such as a piano that plays by itself,or a mirror that reflects an apparition,or ghostly mist.Sometimes the object will bring streaks of bad luck to the home or family. Just as a haunting at a property, the reasons for a haunted object are many and vary. As a scientific paranormal team, we like to have historical data to backup, all our findings, we find it sometimes difficult, to find answers, for haunted objects. Unless of course the object has been with someone who was important to history, not much is recorded on antiques, that have been in the possession of ordinary people."

WHAT ARE SOME "HAUNTED/POSSESSED OBJECTS" THEORIES?

Quote:
"Theory : Some objects are said to be cursed, other would be animated by spirits. Regarded haunted houses, some claims that the former inhabitants are still attached to what belonged to them in their former life on earth. So if a human ghost is not friendly towards you, perhaps it is because you changed something in their house like the carpet in their favorite room or something else that will change and alter the things that belonged to them in life."

----

Quote:
"One theory of how an object can become possessed by a deceased person is that people human thoughts and emotions contain energy that is absorbed in to the objects that are near us. The items keep the energy that they absorb. It is said that when the bond between the person and the object is strong, the object will have a larger chance of showing ghostlike behaviors. If the previous owner was giving off bad energy to the objects around him, there may be negative energies associated with the object. The hauntings may be scary and/or violent. Many times if there were no negative energies absorbed by the object, the hauntings are friendlier."

HAUNTED/POSSESSED OBJECT EXAMPLE:

~ANNABELLE THE DOLL!!!~
(Above: Annabelle the Doll)

Quote:
"In the 1970's, a mother strolling along the street walked into a hobby store, and purchased a large Raggedy-Anne doll as a present for her daughter's birthday. Recently moved away to college, living away from home wasn't easy and Donna loved the little doll. Every morning she placed AnnaBelle on her bed after making it. But Annabelle didn't stay in bed for very long."

Quote:
"The disturbance began in the home when the girls discovered a piece of chocolate candy mysteriously left on the stereo in the living room. None of the tenants had bought chocolate, and they were perplexed as to how it had gotten there. Strange messages were found written in a child's handwriting scrawled on paper. Objects were often moved about the home, never being found where they had originally been left. It seemed as if somebody... or something was sharing the house with the frightened tenants. After a month of unusual occurrences the girls decided that they needed help. They investigated the history of the property, and also contacted a local medium. They discovered that before the apartments had been built on the land, a young girl named 'AnnaBelle' had died on the property. AnnaBelle used to love playing in the field... they were happy times for her, and her spirit had never left. The medium explained that little AnnaBelle's spirit was still there, and responsible for the occurrences in the Home. AnnaBelle asked if she could stay with them, by moving into the doll that Donna's mom had bought for her birthday. Not knowing what else to do, the girls said yes, and eventually even renamed the doll AnnaBelle."

Quote:
"In 1970 a mother purchased an antique Raggedy Ann Doll from a hobby store. The doll was a present for her daughter Donna on her birthday. Donna, at the time, was a student in college, preparing to graduate with her nursing degree and resided in a tiny apartment with her room mate Anngie (a nurse as well). Pleased with the doll Donna placed it on her bed as a decoration and didn't give it a second thought until a few days later. With in that time both Donna and Angie noticed that there appeared to be something very strange and creepy about the doll. The doll apparently moved on its own, relatively unnoticeable movements at first, like a change in position, but as time passed the movement became more noticeable. Donna and Angie would come home to find the doll in a completely different room from which they had left it . Sometimes the doll would be found crossed legged on the couch with its arms folded , other times it was found upright, standing on its feet, leaning against a chair in the dining room. Several times Donna, placing the doll on the couch before leaving for work, would return home to find the doll back in her room on the bed with the door closed."

Quote:
"One night Donna came home to find the doll had moved again, this time it was on her bed. Donna had come to find that this was typical of the doll but some how she knew this time it was different, something wasn't right. A sense of fear came over her when she inspected the doll and saw what looked like blood drops on the back of its hands and its chest. Seemingly, from no where, a liquidy red substance had appeared on the doll. Scared and desperate Donna and Angie decide it was time to seek expert advice."

Quote:
"Lou scoured the room for forced entry but nothing was out of place. But as he got close to the doll he got the distinct impression that somebody was behind him. Spinning around he was quick to realize that nobody else was there. Then in flash he found himself grabbing for his chest, doubled over, cut and bleeding. His shirt was stained with blood and upon opening his shirt there on his chest was what looked to be 7 distinct claw marks, three vertically and four horizontally, all were hot like burns. These scratches healed almost immediately, half gone the next day, fully gone by day two."

Quote:
"The spirit or in this case an inhuman demonic spirit, was essentially in the infestation stage of the phenomenon. It first began moving the doll around the apartment by means of teleportation to arouse the occupants curiosity in hopes that they would give it recognition. Then predictably the mistake of bringing a medium into the apartment to communicate with it. The inhuman spirit now able to communicate through the medium, preyed on the girls emotional vulnerabilities by pretending to be a rather harmless, lost young girl with which during the seance, was allowed permission from Donna to haunt the apartment. Insofar as demonic is a negative spirit, it then set about causing patently negative phenomena to occur; it aroused fear through the weird movements of that doll, it brought about the materialization of disturbing handwritten notes, the symbolic drops of blood on the doll, and ultimately it even attacked Lou leaving behind the symbolic mark of the beast. The next stage of the infestation phenomenon would have been complete human possession. Had these experiences lasted another 2 or 3 more weeks the spirit would have completely possessed, if not harmed or killed one or all of the occupants in the house. "

The Banshee - UPDATED!!!

~THE BANSHEE~

The Banshee is my ultimate favorite Irish myth. Honestly, I would love to witness one for myself, even though it isn't always a good thing to have an encounter with a Banshee. The Banshee is very interesting. Are you interested? Here is some interesting information about the Banshee....

------------------------

WHO IS THIS "BANSHEE" AND WHAT DOES SHE DO?

"Banshee was a name for a fairy, possibly the variation of the Tuatha De Dannan. It is said that the wailing of the banshee foretold an approaching human death. Her name is a variation of "washing woman" and it is said that you may see her more often near a river or a lake. She is posed washing the bloody clothes of the person whose death she is foretelling. Another myth has then as the withered old women who died during child-birth."

According to tradition, the banshee can only cry for five major Irish families: the O'Neills, the O'Briens, the O'Connors, the O'Gradys and the Kavanaghs. Intermarriage has since extended this select list."

Her sharp, cries and wails are also called 'keen'. The wail of a banshee pierces the night, it's notes rising and falling like the waves of the sea, it always announces a mortal's death."

"The evolved Banshee myth claims the spirit is a woman who died in childbirth; in some cases, a murdered woman. The cry of the Banshee varies in accounts as well, from a wail to a scream; from the screech of an owl to a low, sorrowful song. Regardless, the wail of the Banshee remains woven with death traditions of mourning songs or prophetic omens."

"The banshee is a solitary, female figure known for her song - in latter times described as a wail. She is also sometimes known as the "White Lady" and is usually described as pale skinned with long hair and wearing grey or green. Her eyes are red with the centuries of crying; or, in some tales, with anger. She is often ethereal."

Quote:
"Initially the banshee would appear to mourn the dead. As time went on, the tales changed so that she began to fortell death. In some stories she would make an appearance when someone was on their death bed. In others her appearance or wail would foretell an unexpected death or disaster."

Her face is pale, her eyes red with centuries of crying."

THE BANSHEE'S MOURNING CALL

Quote:
"Rarely seen but heard, her mourning call is often given at night when someone is about to die. In 1437, Scottish King James the I is said to have been approached by one such being. There have been numerous reports of same thing happening to members of the royal court and other high-profile members of Irish society."

"Although not always seen, her mourning call is heard, usually at night when someone is about to die. In 1437, King James I of Scotland was approached by an Irish seeress or banshee who foretold his murder at the instigation of the Earl of Atholl. This is an example of the banshee in human form. There are records of several human banshees or prophetesses attending the great houses of Ireland and the courts of local Irish kings. In some parts of Leinster, she is referred to as the bean chaointe (keening woman) whose wail can be so piercing that it shatters glass. In Kerry, the keen is experienced as a "low, pleasant singing"; in Tyrone as "the sound of two boards being struck together"; and on Rathlin Island as "a thin, screeching sound somewhere between the wail of a woman and the moan of an owl"."

WHEN SEVERAL BANSHEES APPEAR AT ONCE

Quote:
"When several banshees appear at once, it is said that a person great or holy has died. Banshee are commonly decipted as having long, fair hair which they comb with a silver comb. If one is to see such a comb, it is suggested not to pick it up or that person might be spirited away. Though to some the comb is simply a gift to someone they love or feel is important."

MORE INTERESTING INFORMATION ABOUT THE BANSHEE

Quote:
"More likely the banshee should be thought of as the "spirit of the family", a spirit who attends to the family in a time of transition. The banshee is described as a wee woman with long white, blond or even auburn hair who appears in the vicinity of the birthplace of the soon to be deceased. When seen, she is wearing the clothes of a country woman, usually white, but sometimes grey, brown or red. The former hues represent the colors of mourning while red is associated with magic, fairies and the supernatural. In some accounts she is seen combing her hair as she laments. She is heard more often than seen, wailing as she approaches the abode in the late evening or early morning, sometimes perching on the windowsill two to three hours or even days before a death. As she moves off into the darkness witnesses describe a fluttering sound, such as the sound made by birds flying at night. Hence, the mistaken belief that banshees manifest as birds such as the crow. The inaccurate association with crows is probably due to confusion of the banshee with the primitive Celtic goddess Badb, the goddess of war who appeared frequently in the form of a crow."
"Banshees also wail around natural forms such as trees, rivers, and stones. Wedge shaped rocks known as "banshee's chairs" are found in Waterford, Monaghan and Carlow. Although there have been reports of banshees accompanying Irish families who emigrated to the Americas, it appears the banshee more often grieves for an emigrant at the ancestral family seat in Ireland. Stories are told of the misfortune visited upon men who interfered with the banshee by taking her comb or challenging her. These tales point up the value of courteousness towards women, the avoidance of drink, violence and late hours."

SHE'S WATCHING YOU!

Quote:
"In Ireland, those persons who have the gifts of music and song are, it is said, watched over by the spirits; one the Spirit of Life, which is prophecy, such persons are said to be 'fey' and to have the gift of the second sight; the other, the Spirit of Doom, which is the reveler of secrets of misfortune and death, and for this dread messenger another name is the Banshee."

THE BANSHEE OR WHATEVER YOU CALL HER

Quote:
"A Banshee is called many things and goes by many names. Including Banshee, Banshi, Benshee, a female fairy, Woman of Peace, Lady of Death, the Angel of Death, the White Lady of Sorrow, the Nymph of the Air, or the Spirit of the Air."
"Whatever you call her, she is one thing, and one thing alone. A Banshee is a disembodied spirit; a ghost, in other words. Some Irish believe that the souls of the departed do not get taken from this earth, but dwell here, and are tied here. They either enjoy the happiness of a life well lived, or if during their life, they lived a life of sin, they were forced to suffer punishment. The spirits of the bad are restrained; forced to pay for their sins in areas near where these sins were committed."

To the cornish she was cyhiraeth and to the Welsh either cyoerraeth or gwrach y rhibyn, which translates as Hag of the Dribble (to the Welsh she sometimes appear as a male). A FRIENDLY BANSHEE AND A HATEFUL BANSHEE

Quote:
"A 'friendly Banshee' is one who in life, had strong ties to her family, and in death, felt the need to watch over them, and keep close to them. A friendly Banshee is not the horrible, scary thing we imagine. Banshees are rarely seen, but are said to at times show themselves. They are said to be seen as young, beautiful women, with pale faces, either black or golden hair, and long, flowing, white garments."

Quote:
"A 'hateful Banshee' in life, had reasons to hate her family, and in death, is a dreaded visitor by the members of the family against which she has hate or anger. She is seen as an ugly and twisted, with distorted features and hate pouring from every line on her face. The screaming howls of a hateful Banshee are enough to make your blood run cold. Imagine the scariest witch from the scariest movie you have ever seen. Now make her even uglier, scarier, and screaming un-earthly howls at you on a dark night."

WHO KNOWS?!

Quote:
"No one is sure how a Banshee obtains her prophetic knowledge, though there are theories out there. Some believe that each family member has a silent attendant, an observer, who follows them and reports information back to the Banshee. This is not a widely held believe, and belief in Banshees altogether is fading."
